SATs preparation

Well it has been a while since I last updated my blog, so while I have a few minutes, I thought I would share the highlights of my week.

It has lovely to see everyone happy to be back at school – refreshed after all that holiday time, and full of chocolate eggs and bunnies! I have been in Year 6 most of the week as they prepare for SATs – and they are certainly working hard! Just take a look at these pictures of all those furrowed brows as they practise spelling, fractions, reading, SPAG – you name it! Not forgetting of course, out equally hardworking Year 2 class who will be taking their tests towards the end of May. I will have a focus on them in my blog next week.

Elsewhere in school, I was so proud of our reception children and staff when we had a visitor in this week to check how they are being assessed. Our visitor, Mrs Ellis, said that she was so impressed by our Early Years environment. I think she will be borrowing some of the team’s ideas for her own school!

So, short and sweet for my first blog as I still have many letters to write. So I hope you all enjoy a wonderful bank holiday weekend – let’s hope for some sunshine!
